This photo is close to my heart. I grew up in Romania and lived there for 18 years of my life. My vacations with my family were always to the mountains, I felt I had a special connection. I felt at peace there. Last summer, I went to Romania to the mountains for the first time since the pandemic. I was sad when I saw that they were building a full resort in a place so beautiful that should have remained untouched. There are already so many hotels and villas, why do we need another one? Deforestation is a big issue in Romania as protected environments are torn down for profit. I took this photo as I wanted to document how beautiful nature is and how humans interfere with it on a daily basis.
